Dame Dolly Doughnut (Peter Duncan) sings of a ‘real-good feel-good’ pantomime as she waits for the arrival of Aladdin (Tazmyn-May Gebbett) who lands on her magic flying carpet. Dolly cannot resist testing the new electric vehicle but, after launching herself from a tree the battery runs flat and she falls from the skies. Recuperating in her library she recounts the Adventures of Alexis, a mystical boy who runs away to join the circus. In a far-away land he discovers a new form of energy at the end of a sound wave and saves the world. The pirate Smee (Kevin Osborne) warns Dolly of Captain Hook’s plan to feed Peter Pan to the crocodile. Hook melodically mourns having no mother and loses more than his hand to the lurking carnivore croc. Dolly meets the real-life Alexis (Arthur Duncan) who recounts the weird dream he had working in a puppet bakery. He bakes a cherry cake for King Charles Ⅲ coronation. Afterwards Dolly and his panto friends gather to celebrate the ’12 Days of Christmas’ but not as we know it. How do they do that? Dolly is in need of a holiday and takes her muppets Gnasher (Adam Price) and Blues Ears (Rhys Jennings) on a stay-cation to a water park. She 'rides the shark' before they all conjure a chaotic performance of Little Red Riding Hood for the local children. As it comes to an end everyone is ordered off the land by a grumpy gamekeeper (Richard Furbank). Back in the comfort of home they all sing ‘How Many Legs Has Daddy Long Legs Got’? …Nobody seems to know!

Reviews: Duncan plays Dame Dolly Doughnut, a daredevil, storyteller, and songstress. It's a winning triple threat. The usual panto call-backs and set pieces are present and correct, and the songs, both original and traditional, are simple and catchy. There are topical moments for the parents - the new King is name-checked, as is the World Cup. Pantoland is amusing, performed with aplomb, well-filmed and edited, and absolutely charming. ★★★★ Louise Penn, Broadway World Duncan gives a master-class in the art of Pantomime Dame and it’s a glorious watch for pantomime lovers of all ages. Duncan revels in connecting with his audience young and old whether sailing down the river as Captain Hook, keeping the laughs coming as Dame Dolly (his comic timing and physical comedy are a delight to behold), or executing ‘Duncan Dares’ style stunts ★★★★★ Liam Rudden Media Duncan’s costumes and hats for Dame Dolly Doughnut are magnificent with some slick edits to change costumes in his opening number ‘Pantoland’ and he knows how to play the audience as Dame. The animation sequence about Alexis produced by Andy Zermanski is a beautifully drawn and painted watercolour cartoon about a boy who meets his spirit guides and joins a circus. This is a perfect watch for young children on a cold afternoon at home. ★★★ Nick Wayne, Pocket Size Theatre Following the successes of ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Jack and The Beanstalk’, acclaimed actor, writer and director Peter Duncan (80’s Blue Peter presenter and former chief scout) creates a new story entitled ‘Pantoland’ for families, schools, and community groups to enjoy. Music and puppetry are used throughout from a song by Captain Hook about never having a mother to the panto classic sing-along of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas' The stories of ‘Aladdin’, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Red Riding Hood’ are briefly but cleverly touched upon ★★★★ Becky Wallis, Curtain Up It is a sleek and high quality production with plenty of fun for all the family and a great way to spend an evening at home. It is a lot cheaper than a night at the theatre, especially considering the current cost-of-living crisis: you can see all three shows (Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Pantoland) for just a fiver each (if bought together), all family/friends included. ★★★ Fabbio Ghiotto London Live 1 Perfect seasonal viewing for school groups who cannot make it to a theatre or to keep younger children entertained for an hour over the Christmas period. This production is rich in colour, original musical numbers and family friendly humour. Peter Duncan knows his craft well and continues to lead the way in online pantomimes, something he has very much championed in the last few challenging years. ★★★ pantoarchive.com/2022reviews

★★★★★ "All in all, Duncan gives a five star master-class in the art of a pantomime dame and it’s a glorious watch for pantomime lovers of all ages." Liam Rudden Media
