Reviews: Duncan plays Dame Dolly Doughnut, a daredevil, storyteller, and songstress. It's a winning triple threat. The usual panto call-backs and set pieces are present and correct, and the songs, both original and traditional, are simple and catchy. There are topical moments for the parents - the new King is name-checked, as is the World Cup. The animation sequence about Alexis produced by Andy Zermanski is a beautifully drawn and painted watercolour cartoon about a boy who meets his spirit guides and joins a circus. Music and puppetry are used throughout from a song by Captain Hook about never having a mother to the panto classic sing-along of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas' The stories of ‘Aladdin’, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Red Riding Hood’ are briefly but cleverly touched upon ★★★★ Becky Wallis, Curtain Up It is a sleek and high quality production with plenty of fun for all the family and a great way to spend an evening at home. It is a lot cheaper than a night at the theatre, especially considering the current cost-of-living crisis: you can see all three shows (Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Pantoland) for just a fiver each (if bought together), all family/friends included. ★★★ Fabbio Ghiotto London Live 1 Perfect seasonal viewing for school groups who cannot make it to a theatre or to keep younger children entertained for an hour over the Christmas period. This production is rich in colour, original musical numbers and family friendly humour.
